Jason Delphin

Jason Delphin is an accomplished blues and jazz guitarist. His unique sound caught the attention of Triple j, leading to his signing with Sony Music Group in 2012. Jason is a fixture on the festival circuit, Falls Festival, the Big Day Out, and Blues on Broadbeach. He completed honors in jazz arranging and composing. His musicianship is a hybrid, drawing from a broad spectrum of influences, which he skillfully integrates into his work.
Jason Delphin is not just a musician but a vanguard of modern music, continuously pushing boundaries and redefining genres.

Matthew Armitage
SUNDAY 25 May, 2-5pm
Folksy blues and roots singer-songwriter Matthew Armitage has created a style all of his own. His nylon acoustic guitar sounds like a South Pacific blues band, his foot stomp is a modified cajon drum with a 60’s tambourine and his voice is steeped in the blues tradition. In 2018 he released his first solo album New Tide. Following the footsteps of classic bluesmen and songwriters before him, Armitage’s New Tide shares stories of his journey, the blues, new love, positive affirmations and realisations along the way, set in his new abundant Australian musical landscape.

Benny D Williams

Widely acknowledged as one of the most talented performers and hard-working acts in South East Queensland, A true multi-instrumentalist, Benny commands a pure essence of high energy performance blended with beautiful harmonies and rhythm.. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes deep but always groovin’, he transcends time and genre while staying true to the soul-boogie.. Melodically building dynamic crescendos then stripping the jam back to its bare beginnings.

JUNE
Darren Gallagher
SUNDAY 1 June, 2-5pm
Darren Gallagher picked up guitar in his early teens, helped him navigate ‘the streets’, something he now reflects on as having provided him with a wealth of material for songs and stories that he continues to draw from. His music is captivating from the get-go; his performance can move from a lonesome whistling entrance sounding like a miner in the Klondike, through to a wild folk guitar crescendo, and gorgeous baritone voice giving the grittiest performance of his life. Darren has lived the troubadour lifestyle in the true sense of the word. For over 15 years he travelled the world playing every type of show imaginable, from busking on the streets of Paris to a 1000 seat sold out show with a 46-piece orchestra in Caxias Du Sol in Southern Brazil. Having now lived in Australia for 11 years he has finally put enough roots down, to record his songs.

Stephen Lovelight

Stephen Lovelight is a long-term member of the Round Mountain Girls but is a soloist in his own right. Performing a range of styles from folk, rock to the greats of the Mississipi blues, Stephen is a talented and gifted musician.

The Harmony Guys
SATURDAY 7 June, 6-9pm
The Harmony Guys are an excellent 4 piece singing group of musicians who specialise in Pristine Harmonies and performing songs from The Four Seasons, Queen, The Eagles, The Mavericks, The Beach Boys, and other great Harmony groups. Performing as part of the Cooly Rocks festival here at Tumby!

Nick Waters
SUNDAY 8 June, 2-5pm
Nick sings and plays guitar while playing drum rhythms with his feet. He has over 20 years experience as a full time professional solo act, and also with his popular party band “Captain Wow Band”. Nick plays a broad range of songs from all eras for all ages and tastes.

Backtrackin’
FRIDAY 20 June, 6-9pm
Backtrackin’ is Mr Troy and Tommo who team up to perform all the classics (well, a fair few of them) from years gone by. Mr Troy puts his own twist on the music of the legendary artists of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Keeping it raw with guitar, foot percussion and harmonica. His strong distinctive vocals have made him a regular on the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers. There’s a bit of something for everyone, expect some ol’ school bangers, Blues, classic hits, country, surf tunes, and some comic banter.

Brett Gannon
SUNDAY 22 June, 2-5pm
Brett has refined his art of smooth smokey vocals with raw acoustic guitar into his love for country rock music. Brett cut his teeth travelling and touring nationally and internationally from Canada and Mexico to many pubs, clubs and corporate events and festivals Australia wide.

Matt Buggy

FRIDAY 27 June, 6-9pm
Matt Buggy is known extensively throughout the region as the terrific front man and singer from Fat Albert, one of the most successful bands from the Northern Rivers / Gold Coast. He has a huge voice, is an awesome guitar player and his enthusiasm as a front man is infectious.

Bill Jacobi
SUNDAY 29 June, 2-5pm
Laden with a down to earth honesty and a healthy sense of humour, Bill’s songs are an eclectic amalgamation of swamp/roots, alternative county and hillbilly funk. As a solo artist, singer songwriter Bill Jacobi has embraced the role of multi-instrumentalist and one-man band. Using foot percussion, lap slide, open tuned guitar and banjo, Bill has developed his own take on the roots, folk and alt country genres.
